Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Boring Apps SRL ("Boring Apps", "we", "us") handles personal data in connection with the DAYS app (the "App"). Boring Apps SRL is the data controller.

1. Information we collect

We designed DAYS to work without collecting personal information. Specifically:

• No account. The App has no sign-up and no login. We don't ask for your name, email or phone number.
• No cross-app tracking. We don't use the advertising identifier (IDFA), don't track you across other companies' apps or websites, don't use third-party analytics SDKs and don't build a profile of you. The only service that receives app data is RevenueCat, for purchases (see 4. Purchases).
• No ads. There is no advertising in the App, so no ad networks receive your data.

2. Content you create

The countdowns you add — their titles, dates, emoji, colours, tags, reminder settings and archive state — are your content. This content is:

• stored locally on your device; and
• if iCloud is enabled on your device, synced across your devices through your own private iCloud (Apple's CloudKit), under your Apple Account.

Except for a countdown you explicitly share (see 3. Share links below), we do not operate our own servers for your countdowns and we cannot read your content. iCloud sync is handled entirely by Apple; your data sits in your personal iCloud storage, not ours. Apple's handling of that data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Imported contacts, calendar events and photos. Imported contacts and calendar events stay on your device and, if iCloud is on, in your own private iCloud. They are never sent to us or to RevenueCat. They reach our server only if you create a share link for one of those countdowns yourself (see 3. Share links).

• Contacts. When you pick people, DAYS copies only each person's name and birthday. Apple's contact picker shows us nothing else, and DAYS does not ask for access to your address book.
• Calendar. If you allow Calendar access, DAYS reads your events only to list them for you. It copies the title, date, time and time zone of the events you choose, and never changes your calendars. You can turn this access off at any time in the iPhone or iPad Settings app, under Privacy & Security, Calendars.
• Photos. A photo you choose as a widget background is resized, stripped of its location and camera details, and stored only on that device. It is not synced to iCloud and is never sent to us. It may be included in your device's own backup.

3. Share links

DAYS lets you share a countdown with someone by creating a share link. This is the one case where a countdown leaves your device and iCloud:

• When you choose to share, the App sends that single countdown's content (its title, notes, date including the year, for example of a birthday, emoji, colour and similar fields) to our server, which stores it and returns a short link.
• Anyone with the link can open it in the App or see a preview page. To build that preview, our server can read the shared countdown's content.
• Only countdowns you explicitly share are sent. Countdowns you don't share are never transmitted to us — they stay on your device and in your private iCloud, as described above.
• Shared countdowns are automatically deleted from our server after 400 days. After that the link stops working; you can create a new one at any time.

Please don't put sensitive information in a countdown you intend to share: anyone you send the link to — and our server, for as long as the link exists — can read it.

Our server runs on Vercel, and shared countdowns are stored with Upstash, which act as our service providers. We don't ask for your name and we don't link a shared countdown to your other data, but it contains whatever you put in it, such as a contact's name or birthday.

4. Purchases (DAYS Premium)

Subscriptions and the Lifetime purchase are made through Apple's App Store; Apple handles your payment and we never see your payment details. To know whether you have DAYS Premium, the App uses RevenueCat, a service that processes in-app purchases on our behalf. RevenueCat receives:

• a random identifier created by the App (not your name, email or Apple Account), your App Store purchase records and subscription status;
• basic technical information such as the App version, iOS version, device language, country and IP address;
• a few in-app events tied to that random identifier: when a Premium screen is shown and which moment opened it;
• if you installed DAYS after tapping an Apple Ads ad in the App Store, Apple's attribution token, so we can see which ad campaign or search term led to the install. This uses Apple's AdServices framework; it does not use the advertising identifier and is not tracking across apps.

Before version 1.4, if the App asked whether you were enjoying DAYS, your answer, the App version and the moment of asking were also stored on this RevenueCat record. From version 1.4 they no longer go to RevenueCat. Earlier answers stay on the record until you ask us to delete it.

We use this only to unlock Premium, to restore it when you ask, and to understand in aggregate which screens and campaigns work. RevenueCat's handling is described in RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

5. Notifications

If you turn on a reminder for a countdown, the App schedules a local notification on your device. These reminders are generated on-device and are not sent through us. You can disable them at any time in Settings → DAYS → Notifications.

6. Widgets

Home Screen, Lock Screen and StandBy widgets read your countdowns from your device to display them. Widget data stays on the device and is not transmitted to us.

7. How your information is used

Your content is used only to provide the App's features on your own devices. Purchase information is used as described in 4. Purchases; we never sell it or use it for advertising.

8. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and there are no third-party advertisers or data brokers involved. The outside parties are Apple (iCloud sync, the App Store and Apple Ads attribution) and RevenueCat, which processes purchases for us (see 4. Purchases). Your countdowns leave your device only through a share link you create yourself, described in 3. Share links above — that content goes to our server, which runs on Vercel and stores it with Upstash, our service providers.

9. Data retention and deletion

Your content stays until you remove it. Deleting a countdown removes it from your synced devices; its widget photo goes about a day later, so that Undo can bring it back. Deleting the App removes its on-device data; content held in your iCloud can also be managed or removed through your device's iCloud settings. Aside from share links and the purchase records RevenueCat keeps for us, we don't hold your data. You can ask us at the address below to delete the RevenueCat record linked to your App's random identifier. A countdown you've shared via a link is held on our server for up to 400 days (see 3. Share links) and is deleted automatically after that — or sooner if you ask us at the contact address below.

10. Children

DAYS is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Security

Your content is protected by your device's security and, when synced, by Apple's iCloud security. We recommend keeping your device and Apple Account protected with a passcode and two-factor authentication.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data held about you. Your countdowns live on your own devices and in your own iCloud, so you can exercise these rights there directly; for purchase records held by RevenueCat, contact us. 13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
